Lamtec Corporation is accepting applications for Summer Helper (Manufacturing) openings in our manufacturing plant. Night shift available. This is a great way to learn about our operation. Recent high school graduates, college students, and those interested in learning about manufacturing are welcome to apply! Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. The manufacturing plant schedule is 5:30am-5:30pm or 6:00am-6:00pm and 5:30pm-5:30am or 6pm-6am, 4 to 5 days per week.

What We Require:

• All applicants must be 18 years of age or older

• All applicants must be available for 12-hour shifts

• Must be dependable, reliable, and coachable

• Some mechanical ability

• Able to read both a standard and metric tape measure and use it accurately

General Duties:

• Assist with operation of machine. Be able to monitor and stop machine when the operator is not present.

• Keep work area clean and orderly

• Continuously inspect product for defects

• Ensure that the customer will be satisfied with the product they receive

• Look out for the safety of others, including the operator

• Clean machine as necessary

• Empty garbage containers

• Complete all work in a safe and timely manner

Operator Support Duties:

• Plan ahead: Have necessary supplies ready for upcoming orders and machine changeovers

• Assist operator in shafting cores and making splices.

• Mount and dismount rolls

• Wrap/package finished rolls

• Mark finished rolls per order requirements

• Operate hoist

• Palletize finished product per packaging specifications

• Help ensure product quality through visual, audible and tactile inspection

Summary:

Lamtec Corporation has an exceptional opportunity for a Laminator Glass Line Operator to join our team creating products that maintain our reputation as a leading supplier of insulation vapor retarders and facings. In this role, you will operate a laminator of specialty products requiring high attention to detail, adaptability, and teamwork.

Our ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined, detailed, inquisitive, resilient, coachable, and a skilled communicator. We are looking for someone with manufacturing, machine operation, or mechanical repair experience.

The position is 2^nd shift, with a Monday – Thursday 5:30pm – 5:30am schedule. Additional mandatory overtime may be required. Voluntary overtime is frequently available. 7% shift differential for 2^nd shift positions applies. The individual hired will train on days for roughly 3 months, then transfer to nights for an additional 3 months of training. The starting hourly rate for the position is $23.00 and upon successful completion of training will increase to $29.43.

Job Duties / Essential Functions:

• Responsible for leading the safe and efficient operation of various laminating machines
• Perform all relevant duties of a glass line operator including but not limited to; yarn, printer, raw material, adhesives, cleaning, startup, change over, and shut down duties
• Ensure the quality of the machine’s output by continuously inspecting the product, making the necessary adjustment to correct any defects, and reporting problems
• Identify product defects (missing yarn, blowing, foil tears, wrinkles, etc.) and reach out for assistance after exhausting troubleshooting capabilities
• Provide guidance and support to Helper(s), lead by example

Skills / Qualifications:

• 3+ months’ experience in the Laminating Helper role
• Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail
• Good training and leadership skills
• Comprehensive knowledge of machine-specific processes, equipment, and setup
• Proficiency in using hand tools and measuring instruments
• Learn and safely operate a forklift
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Basic computer and math skills

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

• Occasional moderate to heavy lifting up to 70 pounds
• Frequent lifting between 10 to 25 pounds
• Frequent bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, overhead lifting, stooping, squatting
• Occasional climbing in, crawling under, over, around machinery
• Frequent ability to go up and down ladders
• Frequent standing for periods of time
• Walking and sitting throughout the day
• Fine and gross hand manipulation
